Bike Blitz

Our indoor cycling classes are designed by cyclists to give you a "real road cycling" experience indoors away from wind, rain and traffic.
Our cycling studio is equipped with 15 bikes and sessions are led by qualified indoor cycling instructors who aim to create a class which focuses on improving muscular strength and endurance with Cardio‐vascular efficiency and changes to body composition.
The 'rides' are structured with climbs, sprints, some level cruising and even some short recovery intervals to just spin your legs and catch your breath.
Sessions last between 45 and 55 minutes depending on the intensity and is complimented with stimulating music and lights to keep you motivated throughtout. The resistance control, of course, is in your hands so the effort you put in is down to you!

RETURNING IN SEPTEMBER 2019

Run by Helen Hutson, classes focus on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery, all set to a pumping sound track!
A road cyclist will normally have a natural pedal cadence of about 85 RPM and will control changes in terrain by changing gear to maintain this rate. The goal of the spinning programme is not to exceed this natural rate by more than 25 RPM higher (110 RPM) or lower (60 RPM) There are five further advanced movements:

- Running with resistance
- Jumps on a hill
- Seated flat sprint
- Seated hill sprint
- Standing hill sprint
