Pickleball is an indoor or outdoor racket/paddle sport where two players (singles), or four players (doubles), hit a perforated hollow polymer ball over a 36-inch-high (0.91 m) net using solid-faced paddles.
Growing interest in the sport is attributed to a number of factors including a short learning curve, appeal to a wide range of ages and fitness levels, and low startup costs.
We are lucky enough to have 2 experienced players living locally, they are on hand at our Sunday morning sessions to guide you through the basics. We have 4 indoor courts set up on a Sunday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am, it's just £3 (1 hour) or £5 (2 hours) per person, and all are welcome.
All the required equipment is supplied, just wear comfy clothes, and trainers if you have them.
Pickleball is great fun and an excellent form of exercise for the whole family. All ages are welcome on Sunday mornings, there is no upper age limit, you can make it as energetic, or not, as you like. Come and give it a go!
The Tuesday evening sessions are run by the First & Last Pickleball Club, and are for experienced players over the age of 16. If you already know the game's rules and are ready to dive right in with other experienced players, please come and introduce yourself to the group.
